About Us

Owners of MCRVR Brian and Donna with Their 1956 Messerschmitt
Brian and Donna live adjacent to Mountain Creek RV Resort. They have a 35-acre farm that is home to many beloved animals. Their farm was one of the largest in the tri-state area during its time. It had been neglected for many years before Brian and Donna found it. It was once a cattle show farm during the 1950s, after which it became a dairy farm. There are not many farms left in the area due to development. It is in the process of being restored. The animals that call this home include 20 miniature horses, 2 paso fino horses, 1 morgan horse, 3 zebu cows (miniature brahma), 3 emus, 4 llamas, 1 donkey, 6 goats, 1 muntjack, many rabbits, 4 dogs, 17 ferrets, 20 plus cats, and two tanks of fish.
Brian has lived here for 37 years (as of 2005). His family moved to this area from Tallahassee and bought the El jo Lodge & Restaurant. Brian worked with his parents, taking care of the business, until he left Blairsville in 1967 to serve in the Navy. When he returned in 1972, he began his own construction business, remodeling and selling homes. Brian loves restoring things, such as the historic courthouse in the middle of Blairsville. He has also done a great deal of insurance work, commercial work, and has built many homes in the area.
His hobbies include enjoying his mico mini cars, Cushman Scooters & Trucksters, 1958 BMW 600, and 1956 Messerschmitt. He also has Cushman Trucksters and a Whizzer cycle. He loves sharing them with other people and letting them go for rides. He held the first Cushman meet at Bald Mountain Park in 2001, and it has been a regular meet for the Cushman folks in the fall season.
Donna has lived here since 1986. She moved to be with her parents and to get away from the stress of central Florida. She purchased a horse before she moved here and decided that it would be better to move herself to the mountains than to move the horse to Florida. She still has the horse, Myya. Donna started her own stained glass business in 1989 where she builds panes for kitchen cabinet doors. She has customers all over the country.
Danna's animals are her biggest love. The farm is full of wonderful critters that are happy to be cared for and loved. The farm is also a rescue for various types of animals that need a place to stay until their permanent home is found. Many of them are here for life.
